Origin: Asia. Evergreen shrub with upright stems which look like Bamboo. The leaves are pinnate, compound and initially pale pink, becoming green in summer and tinged with reddish-purple in autumn-winter. Large panicles of pinkish-white flowers emerge from the leaves in summer, followed by clusters of bright red, shiny fruit in winter and spring. The best results occur when planted in moist but well-drained soil. Use: for beds, hedging, planted as a free standing specimen or with other plants. Excellent plant for pots and containers as it is attractive at different stages throughout the year. Also available the dwarf variety N. domestica “Firepower”.
